Vion Groenlo specializes in processing pigs under the sustainability concepts Good Farming Star (bearing the one-star ‘Better Life’ quality mark) and De Groene Weg (organic). Pigs from the Good Farming Star program and organic pigs must be strictly segregated from other supply streams to ensure their origin can be guaranteed at all times. In addition to organic and Good Farming Star pigs, Vion Groenlo also slaughters and debones conventional pigs and sows. Sow meat is ideally suited for the processed meat industry, both domestically and abroad. Vion Groenlo slaughters Good Farming Star pigs six days a week. In total, the facility regularly processes around 25,000 pigs.
