How do we produce beef and pork? This page provides an insight into Vion’s production process. From the arrival of livestock to the production of high-quality meat products. We explain each step of the process and the measures we take to safeguard hygiene, food safety, product quality and animal welfare throughout production.
Production process of pork
A livestock truck arrives at the loading platform of a Vion slaughterhouse. After a carefully planned journey, the driver unloads around 80 pigs that have been transported from a farm in the region. The animals are approximately 175 days old and weigh around 120 kilograms.

Production process of beef

Depending on their type and purpose, the animals vary in age and weight and are handled with care throughout the unloading process.
