Emstek lies in the Oldenburger Münsterland region in one of the most important European production regions for pork. On average, the distance from the barn to the Vion plant is only 50 kilometres. Every week, around 60,000 pigs are slaughtered and cut up. The success is the result of high productivity and value creation, and a sophisticated quality assurance system. The modern meat centre with its streamlined organisational structure supplies the meat processing industry not just in Germany and Europe, but also in Asia.
